Traffic Control in Parking Lot

As part of our continued improvement of our parking lot, we are adding a traffic control in the middle of our parking lot.
This barrier will be a reflective chain combined with some traffic cones. The purpose of this traffic control is primarily to keep preschool, church, and Kindermusik families safe when entering the building. Staff and others have noticed that some people use our parking lot as a thru street, and often with a dangerous level of speed.
This traffic control will not be used on Sundays and during other worship service times. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the office.

It’ll be held June 10-13 from 5:30-7:30pm here at St. John. Supper for families will be served each evening from 4:45-5:30pm.

This year, the kids and volunteers from Pontoppidan Lutheran will be joining us!

Volunteer for Vacation Bible School

If you’re an adult or a teen, there’s still time for you to get involved with VBS! We’re still looking for volunteers to serve in the following areas:

  • Prepare, serve, and clean up supper. If you like to be in the kitchen, we would love to have your smiling face and your helping hands feed all of these kids and their parents.
  • Work with the kids. We could still use a few small group leaders to guide kids from one activity to the next and participate with them.
  • Decorate/set up or tear down. There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes before and after a week of VBS!

If you are interested, please contact Erin at or 701-232-8521.

Join us June 6 to view “13” documentary

We invite all of you to come and join us at St. John on Wednesday, June 6, for a showing of the documentary simply entitled “13.” The title comes from the 13th amendment to the US Constitution that outlaws slavery. The documentary, about two hours long, is a history of race relations in our country. Pastor Mytch Dorvillier, a native of Haiti and a member of our Eastern North Dakota Synod staff, will be with us and will moderate the evening for us.

We will begin with a potluck at 6:00pm in the fellowship hall; Pastor Mytch will lead us in a devotion at 6:45pm. We will view the documentary from 7:00 to 9:00pm and then have a time for questions. This sounds like a full evening, but we are excited about the opportunity to grow in our understanding of what presently is going on in our nation. This event is sponsored by our Social Concerns/Mission Committee as well as our Reconciling in Christ Committee.
