YOUR BODY AS A TEMPLE

1 Cor. 6:19-20

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.

Psalm 139:8

I Praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

wonderful are your works: that I know very well.

We need to treat our bodies as a temple and we can do that now in this pandemic because many of us are at home with extra time. What better time to practice good health habits in an effort to stave off the virus. OK. Listen up.

We can walk. (it’s too much) You can start with 1 block and work up. (it’s too hot) You can walk inside using the Caroline Melroe Idea. She walks around in all stories marking off each complete circuit on a piece of paper until 6 rotations are done.Marvelous. (I walk her plan when it’s below zero.) Also you can do stretches in a chair-even chair aerobics. (it’s out of the question) Type in chair exercise in Safari and choose. (its too hard) OK. Drag out old exercises from physical education classes and adapt. (I don’t think so)

But we are fearfully (full of awe) and wonderfully made and we can honor God with our body. Christ gave up his body for us. What does this mean for you? How can you pray with your body? Can you make your body temple?

Prayer

Dear God, Take me as I am, warts and all. Give me wisdom to stay healthy.

Do I really have to wear a mask? (Yes) I rest my body, heart, soul and mind in your care. Amen

PS Drink plenty of water these hot days and take some deep slow breaths to relax.

PSS Thou shalt not go outside without a hat and sunglasses.

PSSS Sunscreen anyone?
